A Head Start for Next Year
As we approach the end of 2013, I would like to pose to you a simple question. When you account for taxes, how many months did you work this past year without being paid?
The people of the 4th District are among the most overtaxed in the nation, spending far too much of their lives working for the government when it should be the other way around. I will never forget this as I run and with your help, win.
I make this year-end appeal to you so you can help us during this critical time to build momentum for 2014. As politics goes, there are many reasons we won't miss 2013: the Obamacare train wreck, ongoing joblessness, abuses by the IRS and other agencies, a world growing more dangerous, and a new national debt milestone of $17 trillion, to name a few. I could go on, but complaining can only take us so far. We need solutions. That is why I have spoken out for meaningful health care reform that returns medical decisions to doctors and their patients, tax and regulatory reform that encourages job creation, aggressive oversight of unelected agencies, a partnership with our allies that deters the greatest threats before they proliferate, and putting our fiscal house in order. Next year brings the hope we can start to turn this country around, but that will require resisting the pressure of special interests and renewing our commitment to the Constitution and to the people.
Running for Congress the right way requires an early start, which is why I announced my run for this congressional seat when I did. December 31 is the deadline for our first quarterly filing since my announcement. The stronger we are financially by then, the more likely we are to prevail in 2014. If you have not yet donated, please consider doing so by December 31. You can also help by forwarding this email to five friends and asking them to donate.
Thank you very much for your support!
