New Hyde Park, May 12 – Two members of Congress, Trent Franks (R-AZ) and Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE), have endorsed Frank Scaturro, Republican candidate for Congress in New York’s Fourth Congressional District.

In his endorsement of Scaturro, Rep. Franks stated:

"I announce with great enthusiasm my endorsement of Republican Frank Scaturro to be the next Congressman for New York’s 4th District.

Frank’s greatest assets are his exceptional intelligence and knowledge of the Constitution. He knows constitutional values are the bedrock of our government. He understands that Congress, and not just the courts, is enjoined to protect every right in the Bill of Rights.

I embrace Frank’s candidacy because of his values. Frank can be counted on to uphold true principles –fiscal responsibility, limited government, and repealing Obamacare. He respects the rights of the unborn. He understands the proper balance of power between the states and federal government. And no candidate is a more stalwart supporter of Israel, our most precious Middle East ally.

Frank also supports common sense solutions to our nation’s pressing problems. He supports a pro-growth economic agenda based on eliminating government waste, rejecting pork barrel legislation, and simplifying our Byzantine tax code. He favors lowering taxes of individuals and small businesses. He recognizes our $17 trillion national debt is unsustainable, and he will work to shrink the size of the federal government.

It is not just New York’s 4th Congressional District that needs Frank in Washington. The nation does, too. I look forward to his election in November."

In endorsing Scaturro, Rep. Jeff Fortenberry added, “I know Frank Scaturro.  He is a principled man dedicated to the strength of America and to our values.  He has my wholehearted support.”

Scaturro, responding to the two endorsements, stated:  “I am honored by this support from members who have stayed true to their principles and offered a fresh perspective on how to solve our nation’s many challenges.  They have both demonstrated dedication to solutions that empower families and protect the most vulnerable.  I look forward to working with them and fighting for our nation’s core values at home and abroad.”

Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) serves on the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on the Judiciary, and is a member of the Republican Study Committee. He has received an approval rating of 100% from the Campaign for Working Families, and high approval ratings from the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council and is a signer of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.

Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) serves on the Committee on Agriculture and the Committee on Foreign Affairs. He voted against the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 otherwise known as the bailout bill, and voted against Obamacare. Rep. Fortenberry supports patient-centered health care reform that lowers costs, improves outcomes, and protects vulnerable persons. He advocates offering eligible families the choice of retaining coverage for their children in the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) funds to help pay for a family insurance plan, saving both family and taxpayer dollars.
