Frank Scaturro the Only Candidate to Show at NY-4 Candidate Forum; Challenges Opponent to Debate

New Hyde Park, NY – On Monday, April 28th, the Long Beach Tea Party held its long anticipated candidate forum, the theme of which was “Meet the Congressional candidates for the Fourth C.D.”  It was to be the voters’ first opportunity to see the two Republican candidates, Frank Scaturro and Bruce Blakeman, at the same forum.  (The two Democratic candidates were not expected since one declined the invitation from the meeting organizer and the other did not respond.)  Blakeman, however, cancelled about half an hour before the meeting began, so Scaturro was the only candidate who appeared.

Summer's Coming - Time to Do Your Homework!

With Easter and Passover behind us, the school year’s end and summer vacation are just a blink-of-an-eye away!  But as all parents, grandparents, well-meaning friends and relatives will attest: before slipping into flip-flops and heading for the beach, there’s end-of-year school work to be done.

The excitement of planning and attending communions, prom, barbecues, end-of-year parties, after-party parties (you-name- it) lure us away from the not-so-fun responsibilities like research papers, final exams and the homework and review necessary to insure success long after this coming summer ends.

Success! Next up: Conservatives

First, let me thank all of you who helped with our Republican petition drive.  Our goal was to double the 1,250 signatures legally required to get Frank on the ballot, and I am pleased to report that we exceeded that goal, submitting 2,537 signatures.  This is a significant achievement, especially given how many people wanted to carry petitions for Frank but did not, having faced intimidation by the machine that propped up Frank's opponent.
